Version 12.6

Release Date: July 11th, 2019

Tenant Module

  • New Page Rights for Record History Audit - Added a Tenant Module clevr page right to be able to grant roles other than clevr Admin access to the Record History Audit Log implemented in clevr V12.4. When granted, the Record History Audit Log gives a user the ability to see changes made to records including the date and the name of the user who made the update. 

  • AD / LDAP Parameters for Location and Role Alignment - Added a new section to manage AD Security Group configuration within the Tenant Module to configure LDAP and moved settings to an LDAP Configuration tab with a section to support multiple security groups.

editor

  • New School Dropdown that Displays the City or Town the School is Located In - A new school dropdown custom type has been created. This new dropdown displays the name of the school with the name of the city or town the school is located in within brackets. When this dropdown has been added to the form, it will look like this: Douglas Elementary (Toronto). This will greatly help districts distinguish between locations when there are multiple schools with the same name. If there is no value in the city name field, the dropdown will display N/A.  

  • New File Upload Custom Type - A new file upload custom type has been created. Within the Editor it can be found labelled “Common: File Upload and View”. This custom type will work within a repeater and allows you to upload seperate files to different tabs.

  • Tenant Module - Increased the character limit of the proprietary role ID field within the tenant module

  • Advanced Search, Bulk Data Entry, Bulk Print

    • Changed Background Colour - The background colour in Advanced Search, Bulk Data Entry, and Bulk Print has been changed from grey to white

    • Unable to Search with a Text Input Field - Resolved an issue introduced in clevr V12.5 that blocked the ability to search text input fields.

  • Forms - Resolved an issue preventing the school query from working when SIS integration was not enabled on the field

  • Notifications - Resolved an issue preventing notifications from being deployed when the school name contained an apostrophe


Version 12.4

Release Date: June 6th, 2019

Tenant Module

  • If form has custom permissions, it is indicated with a “Yes” or “No” attribute within the Form Rights tab of the Tenant Module. When “Yes” is displayed, it means that there is a container, tab, or element with rights that deviate from the base form right. “No” means that the rights within all containers, tabs, or elements match the base access right.

Editor

  • Relative Positioning Fix - Improved relative positioning for multiple repeaters within a container. Eventually the goal is to eliminate the need for relative positioning.

  • Auto-complete Attribute List - Now when adding a new attribute to an element, when you begin typing an auto-complete list of matching attributes will be displayed that you can choose from.

  • Single Student Multi-Report Custom Type - A new custom type link is available within the Editor called “Single Student Multi-Report”. When added to a form, clicking it generates a master PDF file with all printouts available to that user.

Advanced Search

  • A new option is available within Advanced Search to display the legal name of a student in the results page when the checkbox for “Display Legal Name” is selected.

performance enhancement

  • Force JavaScript File Cache to Clear When a New Release is Applied - This ensures the cache is cleared after a release to ensure the version number is updated in reference libraries

bug fixes

  • Editor

    • Resolved an issue with the Editor where it gets into in an endless loading loop upon clicking publish while using the new copy report feature

    • Relative Positioning - Fixed an issue where the content of a show/hide area did not stay on it’s designated area on the form and would appear at random places on the page

    • Image Missing from Notification Custom Type - Resolved an issue where an image was missing from the notification custom type

  • Bulk Data Entry - Resolved an issue that was causing the “Bulk Data Entry Complete” toast message to fail to appear when a Bulk Data Entry was performed

  • Forms - Resolved an issue that caused a stored procedure to be invalidated

  • Client Specific

    • LSSD - Resolved an issue where teachers were seeing students not associated with their PowerSchool classes for LSSD

    • DDSB - Resolved an issue for the DDSB local install with regard to collation difference between the temp database and the live database

    • CCSD - Resolved an issue where notifications were being deployed to all locations the student was associated with. This has been updated to ensure notifications are only deployed to the school selected within the school dropdown. 


Version 12.2

Release Date: May 9th, 2019

Login Audit Log

  • New log module that allows admin-level users to review user account login attempts. With a similar interface to the user module, view the most recent login attempts or the login attempts over a specified date range.

editor

  • A new “Copy All” option is available within the Editor when copying a form. Now you can select whether to copy just the form or include the printouts too.
    Note: Compatible with HTML printouts only, legacy printouts (C#) are not supported in this feature

Active Directory

  • Clients who log in with active directory authentication (Ex: LDAP, ADFS, SSO, etc) will be directed to a blank page upon logout that says “You have successfully logged out of clevr”. Previously they would be directed to the clevr login page.

bug fixes

  • Integration - Resolved an issue where locations were occasionally removed from students during the SIS integration routines.

  • Editor - Resolved an issue where the rights for the internal clevr admin role were appearing as random roles within the Editor. This has been updated so that internal clevr Admin rights are not shown to other roles.

  • Homescreen - Previously, if a staff member that had a user account had their record for a form removed from the Homescreen it would remove that form from their account preventing to access it and breaking it if it was the default form in their account. This issue has been resolved.

  • Client Specific - Calgary Board of Education - Changed the messaging within a popup on the Off Campus or On Campus Agreement to be more meaningful. Now users will receive a pop up asking “Do you want to import the Employer details (i.e. address, phone number, etc) for the selected employer?”

BULK PRINTING

  • New ability to choose which way you want your records to be generated with the Bulk Printing module:

    • Download a single PDF with all the records you selected in it

    • Download a zip file with all the records you selected contained within separate PDFs

TEXT FILE INTEGRATION

  • Added new “On-Demand” import data fields for clients integrating via text files. The fields added include student gender, staff gender and school population

BUG FIXES

  • Bulk Data Entry - Resolved an issue with Bulk Data Entry that yielded no results when all roles were selected


Version 11.3

Release Date: May 2019

TENANT MODULE

  • Ability for clevr Team Members to efficiently implement settings including:

    • Configuration settings for AD/LDAP in Tenant Module

    • Configuration settings for PowerSchool

    • Private forms configuration

EDITOR

  • The initiativeID (used for flagging for advanced  search, bulk data entry, etc) can now be found in the options accordion

  • Additional alerts including an alert to the user if a new layout is created without an initiative ID in Page Properties

  • Drag and drop is here! Multiple elements can now be selected at once and dragged into place. Press the CTRL button to grab multiple elements. Works with the arrow keys or mouse!

BUG FIXES

  • Homescreen - Resolved the issue on the Homescreen (also referred to as the 4500 screen) where if the user attempted to search using a single checkbox, the page reloaded without any search parameters and never yielded any results.

  • Email Function - When a user had “all locations” selected in the location dropdown and attempted to send an email an error would occur. This has been resolved.

  • User Module - Fixed a typo in the User Module Proprietary ID field.

  • Forms

    • The message deployed when apply to all was successful has been changed from "Student records update successfully." to "The records have been updated successfully"

    • Resolved an issue that caused forms with iFrames to ignore the DoNotClone attribute

  • Advanced Search - Resolved the issue where Saved Searches stayed with the user account even if the account is moved to a different tenant and no longer has access to the form.

  • Bulk Printing - Resolved an issue that was preventing Bulk Print from working with both HTML and C# Printouts (Legacy Printouts) at the same time

  • Client Specific - Pembina Trails - Resolved an issue where a clinical database file was run as an integration file


Version 11.0

Release Date: January 9th, 2019

PRIVATE FORM ACCESS RIGHTS

  • New access right created for forms that grants the ability for a form to be set up as private for specified roles. When a form has been set to private for a role, users will only be able to access their own record.

FORMS

  • Identical records can now be created for multiple staff and students from a master form. Enter data into a master form, then trigger the creation of a new records for other staff and students.

CUSTOM REPORTS

  • Links for custom reports used to be found at the top of the Homescreen when the form they belonged to was selected. Links for custom reports can now be found within their own menu item on the Homescreen called “Reports”.

BUG FIXES

  • Files and Links - Extra periods in the file name would prevent a file from being able to be opened once uploaded. This has been resolved.

  • Groups and Classes - Corrected a sorting issue that was preventing Groups and Classes from displaying in alphabetical order.

  • Tenant Module

    • Corrected an issue with the tenant module that caused “ghost” menu items to appear when a new role had no rights for that module (if clicked on, since the role had no permission to the module, a white screen would load)

    • Corrected an issue that was causing the role ID number to determine whether or not a role was class aligned

  • User Module

    • The DOB calendar within the User Module ended after the year 2012. There are now options for up to 2017.

    • Corrected an issue that that would prevent persons from being added to forms after having been modified with the User Module

  • Interactive Dashboard - When the Metrics Widget had fields flagged and a search had been run, the role selected was not being passed to the Homescreen. This has been corrected.

  • clevr Profile

    • Corrected an issue that was causing clevr Profile to accept only http in the URL for images and not https

  • Client Specific Fixes

    • Louis Riel - corrected an issue preventing import data from working with their Adaptation Plan

    • Enabled Single Sign On for Greater Essex

    • Renfrew County Catholic - Corrected an issue that applied ready only rendering to the login screen after a user visited a locked record and then logged out


VERSION 10.0 RELEASE NOTES

Release Date: September 19th, 2018

INTEGRATION ROUTINE

  • Support for additional data fields through clevr on-demand integration

  • Ability to specify Home vs Concurrent student enrollment during nightly integration

  • Ability to schedule On-demand integration to be performed nightly for specific clevr forms 

EMAIL SCHEDULER

  • New feature allows users to set up scheduled search reports from clevr via email

SECURITY ENHANCEMENTS

  • A generic message is presented on screen to users changing their clevr password

  • Additional logging when a record is set Inactive within clevr

TENANT MODULE

  • Support added for an unlimited number of roles with a toggle to determine whether the role is class aligned

BUG FIXES

  • Groups and Classes - Some teacher names were not appearing in the class list in the Groups and Classes module. This issue has been resolved.

  • Dashboard

    • Some metrics fields were showing incorrect totals on the dashboard. This issue has been resolved.

    • Some form tiles were loading a blank screen. This issue has been resolved.

  • SQL Exception Errors - SQL exception errors were generated when various functions were performed in the Editor (load a form in the editor, drag and drop elements, create new form, discard draft). These errors were unseen by end users, however may have affected overall performance of clevr. These issues have been resolved.

  • Connection Pool Timeout Error - Connection Pool Timeout Error would occasionally appear. This error was caused by a large number of active connections to the database. A patch has been applied to resolve this issue.

  • Digital Signatures - Icon was not appearing for roles who had access to this feature. This issue has been resolved.

  • Saved Searches - Searches with a special character in the name were not appearing in the Saved Search list. This issue has been resolved.

  • clevr Profile - Could not upload an image for a student with a Pre-registered status in the Student Information System. This issue has been resolved.

  • Editor - A second apostrophe was added when saving a form with an apostrophe in the form name. This issue has been resolved.

  • clevr Client Specific (Saskatoon Public Schools) - The all roles dropdown on the Advanced Search screen was not appearing. This has been resolved.


Version 10.3

SECURITY ENHANCEMENTS

  • Security review to ensure the safety of clevr data

  • Ensure objects are not exposed through the URL

  • Ensure that clevr running in a separate browser tab cannot alter properties in the original tab

  • Improved error handling to ensure clevr is not susceptible to full path disclosure

USER MODULE

BUG FIXES

  • Linked Accounts - Linked accounts were not switching as expected when users were logging into clevr using their Active Directory authentication process. This issue has been resolved.

  • Homescreen - Improvements to performance will improve loading times for this screen

  • Text File Integration

    • Headers were being stripped off the text files when the files were processed. This issue has been resolved

    • New locations were not added to clevr when they were present in a text file. This issue has been resolved. New locations are now added to the clevr database as expected.


Version 10.2

Release Date: October 17th, 2017

INTEGRATION ROUTINE OVERHAUL

  • Massive overhaul to the existing integration routines. Now locations, staff, students, and classes integrations will be running every night for every SIS type - Maplewood, PowerSchool, and Text File. New students / classes etc will now have a next day turnaround reflected in clevr.

SECURITY ENHANCEMENT OVERHAUL

  • Massive security updates have been applied including:

    • Encrypting all modules

    • Strengthening protections against XSS attacks, SQL injections, clickjacking

CLIENT SPECIFIC - CALGARY CATHOLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT

  • Custom PowerQueries developed to populate Learner Support Plans, ELLs, and Requests for Support with EIE & ELL codes

BUG FIXES

  • Notifications

    • Fixes deployed for various notification related issues:

      • When a student’s last name contained a space or if there were two last names, the auto login link would take you to the login screen. This has been corrected, users will now be logged into their clevr account when clicking on the notification link.

      • Corrected an issue where notifications were failing to send

      • If a user clicked on files & links or the email icon then sent a notification, the notification would take you to that module instead of the record. This has been corrected.

  • Editor - Corrected an issue that prevented users from updating the name of a form to contain an apostrophe (Ex: Plan d'enseignement différencié)

  • Login Screen - Corrected an issue that applied ready only rendering to the login screen after a user visited a locked record and then logged out

  • Alerts Module - Corrected missing permission issue that was causing the Alerts module to load a -1 screen.

  • Client Specific - Calgary Catholic School District - Made an update to the PowerSchool integration routine that was preventing users from being deactivated at locations they used to work at

  • Client Specific - Manitoba First Nations Education Resource Centre - Corrected an issue with the Editor that caused an error message when attempting to copy a form

  • Client Specific - Durham District School Board - Updated a stored procedure that was replacing dashes with a soft hyphen in Advanced Search which caused Excel to convert it to a string

MERGE PERSONS

  • Merge Persons Module allows clevr staff to quickly address issues with duplicate student / staff records imported from the SIS

DATA IMPORT / EXTRACT

  • Ability to extract clevr data to XML or CSV

NOTIFICATIONS

  • Enhancements to notifications including:

    • Ability to specify custom subject line, “from” name and “from” email when setting up a notification

    • Ability to include student / staff /school name, location and current user name dynamically in the subject line and the body

MENU CHANGES

  • Change the initiatives button in the menu bar to say Forms instead of Initiatives

  • clevr version number is now available from the main menu under the About button

LIMITED LOGIN ATTEMPTS

  • Users are locked out if they have 5 unsuccessful login attempts within 30 minutes

  • There is an override in the User Module to allow admin users to override an account lockout

UPGRADE TO .NET FRAMEWORK

  • clevr program files have been upgraded to build on .NET 4.5.2

BUG FIXES

  • Session Timeout - Ensured the dialog box sits on top of everything else in the page when the user session is going to time out within 10 mins

  • Login Screen - Active directory users were being redirected back to the non-AD (2 bar) login screen when their session timed out. This issue has been resolved, users will now be redirected to the Active Directory / LDAP login screen when their session has timed out

  • Printouts - The HTML printout cache will now be cleared once an update has been published to a clevr printout

  • Editor - Issues with saving custom types using the clevr Editor. This issue has been resolved.

  • User Module - User name column did not allow for long usernames (Ex: a long email address). This issue has been resolved. Usernames up to a maximum of 120 characters are now supported.

  • Bulk Data Entry - User interface prompts have been added to let users know when clevr is working to filter records and navigate to the next screen after applying filters


Version 9.3

Release Date: August 3rd, 2017

SESSION TIMEOUT FEATURE

  • 10 minutes before a session times out, users will receive a warning with an option to renew the current session

  • Users will receive a message informing them that a session has expired when they return to clevr after a session timeout

USER MODULE

  • Role has been added as a searchable field

  • User module will now accept numeric values in the employer name field

GRID VIEW DATA ENTRY

  • New Grid View Data Entry page available for quick data entry on configured forms

MAPLEWOOD INTEGRATION

  • New logic has been added to the Maplewood Integration routine to set staff status to "inactive" for a location when the mw_status = "This year only" and the transfer date / end date is in the past

BUG FIXES

  • Forms - Browser spell check will now underline misspelled words in Rich Text Editor fields

  • Advanced Search - French accents are now able to be used to search filters and will now return in results

  • User Module - Usernames can now contain 50 characters; previously they were limited to 32 characters

  • clevr Profile - Fixed an issue in the clevr Profile that prevented users from uploading a file extension that was all capitals such as .PNG or .JPEG

  • Bulk Data Entry - Bulk data entry did not transfer any carriage returns into the subsequent records. This has been fixed.

  • Files and Links - The “Enter File Alias” heading in files and links has been changed to “Enter File Name”

  • Text file integration - Resolved issue “reactivating” staff / students at a location

  • Linked Accounts - Linked user accounts alias will now appear in alphabetical order

LINKED USER ACCOUNTS

  • New feature that allows Single Sign On for users with clevr user accounts in multiple Districts / Divisions 

  • With linked accounts, users can now have more than one role in clevr

INTERACTIVE DASHBOARD

  • New dashboard that allows divisions to customize the clevr dashboard by role

  • Allows end users to customize their own Dashboard

HOMESCREEN SEARCH

  • Users can now search for students using a “Current Grade” filter

BUG FIXES

  • Dynamic Charting

    • JavaScript error appears when selecting a some forms on the Dynamic charting screen - this issue has been corrected

    • Some filters are not rendered correctly and appear “cut off” in the filters area - this issue has been corrected

  • Editor - Extra rights would appear to be applied when changing rights in the editor - this issue has been corrected

  • Tenant Module - Update to change wording on label from “Initiative”’ to “Form”

  • Maplewood Integration - Issue when importing data into forms for some Maplewood clients - this issue has been corrected

  • Dashboard - Some recently updated records were not being reflected under the “What’s new” area on the dashboard - this issue has been corrected

  • Report Editor - Checkboxes are now sorted on printouts in the order they appear on the screen by default

  • Advanced Search - Correction to Advanced Search results where first symbol is a "-" (which causes Excel to interpret data as a formula and truncate the results to 255 characters)

  • Groups and Classes - Update to new Groups function to handle group descriptions/names that might contain an apostrophe


Version 9.0

TEXT FILE INTEGRATION

  • Update to allow for SIS staff role alignment with clevr roles

  • Update to allow for the ability to “Import Data” into clevr forms from a Custom Web Service or Text File Integration

GROUPS AND CLASSES

  • New feature that allows users to add / manage custom groups within clevr

  • View into SIS classes that have come in from SIS Integration

CLONE RECORD

  • Performance improvement for the Clone Record action. The number of calls to the database have been reduced which will speed up cloning an individual student record and cloning / rolling over records via Bulk Data Entry

REPORT EDITOR

  • Support added for special characters including standalone bullets, french characters, and others

BUG FIXES

  • Active Directory

    • Update to authenticate against Active Directory / LDAP systems without the need for a “match” using the SAMAccountName attribute

    • Active Directory / LDAP authenticated users are now returned to the Active Directory / LDAP enabled login screen when the log out of clevr

    • Update to authentication to support logging into a VIS server. Change is also compatible with all other LDAPS clients.

  • PowerSchool Integration

    • SIS enabled fields are now automatically populating when a record is created from the “Add” screen

    • Inactive locations would be set to active again if they were present in the data incoming from PowerSchool. This issue has been resolved.

  • Text File Integration

    • Correction to TextIntegration Staff Import to avoid error in duplicating Person / Position / Location entries

    • Update to LRSD custom web service integration code to bring in Parent1Address as a Parent1MailingAddress field

    • Some users had access to locations they were no longer tied to the Web Service. This issue has been corrected. Users are now marked “inactive” for a location in clevr if they are not active for the location in the Web Service during integration.

  • Password Restriction - Restriction on the password set functionality to disallow single quotes in the password

  • User Module

    • Rapidly pressing on the create user checkbox caused the box of content that it displays to be cut off. This issue has been resolved.

    • When a user modified their own account in the User Module, an error would appear next login. This issue has been resolved.

  • Report Editor

    • Fixed the endless loading screen (spinning wheel) display in preview mode

    • Ability to remove printouts from the printouts list in the printouts editor that are no longer in use has been added

    • Empty repeating rows are removed from printouts

    • The Editor would not load after previewing a printout in the printout editor. This issue has been resolved.

  • Apostrophies within clevr

    • Apostrophes used within specific instances in clevr caused the following problems: 

      • A user with an apostrophe in their name could not sign in to their account via the login screen

      • An apostrophe in the Users’ Table in the User Module was causing an error with linking so when clicking on the edit pencil or change password icon you would receive a JavaScript error

    • The fix now allows double or single apostrophes in the system for the username. The user can log in and a User Module user can edit a user who has an apostrophe in their name.

  • Dynamic Charting - Charts in dynamic charting were not loading properly after Dynamic Charting access was added to a role. This issue has been fixed.

    • Fix display issue to align mouse pointer to new element when dragging and dropping a new element on a form

    • Fix to update labels on the fly in the Editor using IE11 (page refresh was previously required when using IE 11)

    • Removed the Create Custom Types option for all roles except clevr Admin

  • SDS Data Submission - A number sign (#) in the school name was causing the extract process to fail. This issue has been resolved.

  • Miscellaneous

    • Functionality that replaced swear words with asterisks (****) has been removed

    • Update to FTP file transfer service to ignore files in the LSAdmin upload directory, and also to ignore files with the following extensions: *.js, *.exe, *.bat, *.dll, *.pdb, *.css.
